The island might not be an ideal place for challenging bike tours. But it offers beautiful beach breaks, camping, and watersport holidays. Van Don is divided into 1 township and 11 communes including Cai Rong, Dong Xa, Ha Long, Binh Dan, Doan Ket, Dai Xuyen, Van Yen, Minh Chau, Quan Lan, Ngoc Vung, Ban Sen, and Thang Loi.
The best way to get to Van Don from Hanoi is to rent a car with driver. You will be picked up at your place in Hanoi and brought to Cam Pha town. From there, connect a speed boat for Van Don island.
