According to the experience of people who have rented motorbikes in Mui Ne, the cost will be reduced when you select this type of vehicle.

When starting to rent a motorcycle, you must ask the lessor to give you a free map. Mui Ne travel is very convenient. Things to do and the best time to visit Mui Ne

Mui Ne is a coastal town about 5 hours north of Ho Chi Minh City. Interestingly, what most travellers call Mui Ne is Ham Tien, a town between Mui Ne and Pham Thiet.

These days the area is largely a tourist region with resorts and restaurants lining an extremely long section of coast line. Catering to tourists the area has lost its ‘Vietnamese feel’ but most places also don’t cater very well to foreigners so there’s a strange vibe around. There’s a lot of talk among travellers these days.

Is it worth visiting Mui Ne? We think its worth a visit, even if only for a short stay. There’s plenty of things to do in Mui Ne Vietnam at night, the red and white sand dunes, the mui ne fishing villiage and of course the beach.

We were in Mui Ne four years ago, at the end of April, and were quite surprised at how quiet it was this time around. It is low season; however, it feels like there’s more to it than that. On our first visit, tourists were everywhere and there was a great backpacker culture. Today, it reminds us more of a beach town that’s past its prime. Resorts and restaurants are abandoned, kilos and kilos of live seafood sit in tanks outside empty restaurants while staff do their best to persuade you to enter.

As with many of the beachy coastal areas in Vietnam, Mui Ne is primed for Russian tourists. Everything from business street signage to menus is in Vietnamese, English and Russian. Surprisingly, we didn’t see that many Russians either. There just weren’t many people in general.

Best Time to Go

The best time to enjoy go to Mui Ne is from November to March, when skies are sunny with strong winds, resulting in optimum temperatures and wave conditions. Thanks to its rock-free waters, Mui Ne Beach is great for swimming, kitesurfing, kayaking, surfing and kitesurfing. Numerous food carts and local restaurants are also set along the beach, offering authentic Vietnamese dishes and fresh seafood at affordable prices.

Rainy season in Mui Ne is between the months of April and October, when the town has an average humidity of 79%. Hour-long rainfall takes place during the afternoon and evening while flash floods and extensive erosion are known to occur especially in September.

Mui Ne weather has a tropical monsoon climate with the rainy season falling between April and October and the dry season from November to March. This coastal town is also prone to drought due to its close proximity to the Binh Thuan Desert, making it the driest region in Southeast Asia. As a result, Mui Ne attracts visitors from across the world looking to visit unique geological formations such as Fairy Stream and the Sand Dunes of Mui Ne.

Travellers can also enjoy various recreational activities in Mui Ne as the average temperature is about 27°C between the months of November and April. Mui Ne also receives very little rain compared to other cities in Vietnam, so wearing comfortable clothing is highly recommended during your visit. Do note that swimwear is only appropriate for the beach and topless sunbathing is prohibited in Mui Ne.
